smile and the whole world smiles with you

I seldom read the sappy “Dear Abby” articles in the newspaper, but saw this over lunch and it reflects a lot of what I’ve been thinking (and working on) lately.

Here’s the gist of it:

“No matter what you wear, the expression on your face is your greatest asset or liability.  Would you want to strike up a conversation with someone who looks like h/she is mad at the world? Well, neither would anyone else.  So, if you’re wearing a perpetual frown, get rid of it and trade it for a smile.

There are 2 kinds of people:

1. those who come into a room and their attitude says “here I am”

2. those who come into a room and their attitude is “there you are”.  These are the winners.  If you want to receive a warm welcome, remember the happier you are to see others, the happier they’ll be to see you.

Another friend posted a status on facebook that said “You’re as beautiful as your thoughts”  and it really is true, if you want things to work out in your favor, if you want to meet that special someone and if you want to doors to be opened for you, think beautifully.  Think positively. Easier said than done, I have definitely struggled and can attest to how challenging it can be.  However we all know how painful, cumbersome and overwhelming all the “what if, when, where, why, how” questions can be.  Might as well try to smile, hope for the best and thank ourselves later.  Right?!? =)

Here’s the article. It’s worth the read: http://www.uexpress.com/dearabby/
